Accounting Manager, Ad Platform

About the role 

Roku is seeking to fill the role of Accounting Manager, Ad Platform supporting Roku’s programmatic advertising platform. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting of all Ad Platform costs which includes owning the month end close process, accruals, and internal and external audit requests. The individual will also be heavily involved in identifying process improvements, assisting in implementation of new business processes and applications to facilitate growing volume, new business initiatives, and adhering to internal policies and procedures. 

The individual must be a self-starter and work with limited direction while taking full ownership of areas of responsibility. This role will be expected to have good communication skills to facilitate information flow between all business partners, reflect a strong foundation in accounting processes and systems and documentation skills to support their work and conclusion. 

This position’s preferred location is Boston, however the successful candidate can also be based out of Austin. The position reports to Director, Financial Compliance.

What you'll be doing

• Own month end close procedures for the Ad Platform including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and other duties as necessary
• Own accounting of all direct costs related to ad platform business including the monthly accrual
• Prepare monthly reconciliations along with documentation and support explaining the ending balance
• Own revenue accounting of other programmatic revenue streams
• Prepare monthly reports and details of programmatic revenue and costs used by other teams
• Streamline and improve existing finance processes and systems to enable the business and finance function to scale
• Fulfillment of internal and external audit requests
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal team members and cross-functional teams
  
  

We're excited if you have

• 7+ years of relevant experience in accounting, programmatic platform experience is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Ability to think outside the box, comfortable with ambiguity and provide suggestions and guidance
• Collaborative temperament, proven communication skills and demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter with attention to detail yet possesses an understanding of the "big picture”. Experience operating with a high degree of autonomy
• Experienced with Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus
