About the role

The Communications Intern will support a variety of teams within Roku’s Global Communications organization. During this internship, you’ll learn how communications strategy, great storytelling, and data are combined to help achieve Roku’s business objectives through effective corporate, consumer, advertising, and internal communications.

This position will be either virtual or located at our HQ office in San Jose, CA (depending on the status of working from home due to the pandemic) and will report to the Director of Corporate Communications.

This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, disability benefits, parental leave, and wellness benefits.

For California Only - The estimated hourly rate for this position is between $20 and $50 per hour.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing

  • Draft press releases, blog posts, fact sheets, media pitches, briefing materials, recap reports, and employee communications
  • Support planning and execution of corporate announcements such as quarterly earnings, business milestones, and internal events
  • Participate in PR planning and strategy development
  • Track industry and company media coverage and prepare reports

  • Trustworthy and able to keep highly sensitive information confidential
  • Pursuing a degree (and career) in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, English, or Advertising
