About the Role
What you’ll be doing
- Work with development and QA teams from content partners to understand their SDK requirements and certification test procedures for channel certification.
- Manage the various stages of development and certification QA process for partner channels to ensure compatibility with Roku.
- Design and development of NDK modules and underlying porting layer to enable top-tier streaming applications on top of Roku OS.
- Manage channel development plans, releases, certification QA projects.
- Liaise and communicate with globally distributed teams, partners, and management.
- 7+ Years of strong software development and 2+ years of management experience.
- Extensive software engineering experience with C/C++/JavaScript and Embedded Linux,
- Experience with Browser technologies like Chromium or Webkit and graphics layers like OpenGL or Vulkan.
- Solid understanding of design and architecting for performance, ensuring that your code is fast, resource efficient and ultra-reliable
- Deep understanding of multi-threaded environments and concurrency management
- Proven track record of success in managing teams working on embedded systems and products.
- In-depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries, and open-source development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience
