About the role
Roku is seeking a Sr. Display Engineer of Roku Display Technology team. This position will be responsible for developing display and LCD solutions for our Roku TV reference designs and working with our OEM partners to take that solution from bring up to mass production.
The successful candidate will be an energetic and assertive team player who can expertly manage multiple projects and thrive during rapid development cycles. They will possess the expertise and determination to ensure the project stays on target with respect to product design, quality, schedule, and cost goals from concept to delivery. They will be expected to participate in design kick-offs and workshops with OEM partners which will involve local and international travel. Travel will be about 15% - 35%.
What you'll be doing
Role and responsibilities include: Developing cost-effective and advanced LCD display reference designs; Working with the Roku TV PQ team and OEM partners to implement and tune LCD display designs for optimal performance. This person will be part of a larger Roku panel display team that works in multiple locations and supports Roku TV designs and OEM partners around the world.
We're excited if you have
- 8+ years of display and LCD experience with experience in TV system LCD display designs for TVs.
- Experience in LCM Open Cell, Color filter and panel CoF driver ICs.
- The candidate also needs to have LCM system level working experience and demonstrates understanding of applied optical and photonics physics.
- Well understand the color gamut system and experienced in WCG products.
- Experience in overdrive tuning and Vcom adjustment.
- Knowledge the optical design color simulation tools, i.e., LightTools, TracePro etc.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to present to a technical audience.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Nice to have
- Experience with cost-sensitive, high-volume consumer electronic products.
- Well understand digital de-mura algorithm and physical solution.
