Sr. Software Program Manager

About the role

We're looking for a senior program manager with a head for business, experience with product, and a pragmatic, strategic approach to problem-solving.  You are smart, hands-on, a good team player, and interested in delivering high quality software on time to make our customers happy. This position requires an energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication, organization, and technical skills to work cross-functionally, and who can communicate at all levels of management. This is a unique opportunity for a senior professional who enjoys a high-level of independence, visibility and responsibility. The successful candidate will be a team player, who can expertly manage high volumes of detail and thrives on managing multiple complex technical projects running in parallel. They will possess the expertise and determination to ensure their projects stay on target with quality, schedule and overall cost goals from concept to delivery.

What you'll be doing

• Drive execution on our product roadmap, guiding design, development, and launch. Detail oriented.  Unblock the team
• Engage at a detailed technical level with engineering teams to deliver a software release or feature
• Listen, build consensus, decide on the specifics, and clarify requirements
• Develop and track detailed program schedules for software development, testing, roll-out and keep projects on track
• Build strong relationships across the organization.  Be an authority on your release or feature, be approachable, and help make the connections needed to keep the team moving forward
• Communicate.  Ensure others know what is happening, documenting decisions, issues, and actions clearly and concisely 
• Close the loop.  For a given project, figure out relevant metrics, and drive the building of the tools to measure and report on it.  Feed insights back into our product development and design processes
• Develop and continually refine processes to ensure the effective and efficient execution
• Foster a culture of data-driven program management, product excellence and exceptional execution
• Facilitate communications across the company to ensure transparency of progress and risks, maintain plan-of-record, and provide appropriate and timely updates
• Handling multiple concurrent projects with a high level of detail and organization
• Work closely with external vendors and partners to manage their support as applicable

We're excited if you have 

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• 8+ years of software and program management across multiple organizations
• Project management training, covering key requirements for effective project management
• Extensive experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc..) and other Project management software applications
• Proficient in program management concepts
• Hands on experience with the software development lifecycle, embedded systems a strong plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required
• Excellent communication and technical presentation skills
• Prior work experience in software engineering or an equivalent technical area desired
