About the team
The TV Technology team within Roku TV NPI group is focused on building TVs with the best Audio Quality, Picture Quality and enabling innovation/technology. With tens of millions of TVs sold across many countries, thousands of streaming channels and billions of hours watched on Roku TVs, having the best Audio Quality & Picture Quality is crucial.
About the role
The TV Technology Audio team collaborates closely with the Display, Software, and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to develop innovative audio products for Roku. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and supporting audio-related products, enhancing Roku TVs with new audio capabilities, and creating scalable solutions across multiple Roku TV platforms. You have excellent communication, organization, and technical skills to work cross-functionally with other organizations (internal and external). You also have a systematic and scientific approach to solving problems and innovating.
What you will be doing
- Overseeing acoustic hardware integration and testing during new product development.
- Maximizing yield of manufacturing
- Collaborating with internal and external partners on various projects.
- Developing test and measurement hardware setups.
- Testing and benchmarking both new and existing products.
- Documenting product features and specifications
We’re excited if you have
- Over 7 years of experience in product development.
- Proficiency in conducting acoustic measurements.
- Experience in prototyping and mechanical integration.
- Experience with electro acoustic transducers
- Experience in acoustic modelling of loudspeakers (lumped models).
- Extensive experience in performing acoustic measurements.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- Familiarity with automation.
- Familiarity with developing tools such as Python or C++.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or Master's degree in Acoustics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
