About the team

The Subscriptions team at Roku is focused on growing Roku’s subscriptions business by identifying opportunities to better compete in the SVOD landscape and working cross-functionally to ensure the optimal execution of those initiatives. As the company’s core business team thinking about subscriptions, we are setting the strategy and vision for Roku’s SVOD business and partnering closely with internal teams such as Partner Growth, Marketing, Merchandising, Product, Content Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, and Accounting to bring the vision to life. The Subscriptions team is wholly responsible for the successful management of the Premium Subscriptions business within The Roku Channel, including identifying growth opportunities and managing day-to-day activities.

 

About the role

Roku is seeking a detail-oriented operations manager to join its Subscriptions team. This role will execute key day-to-day activities related to growing and maintaining the SVOD business within The Roku Channel (“Premium Subscriptions”). Specifically, this role will conduct and manage processes and data flows across teams and systems to operate and expand SVOD services, bundles and offers. The role requires strong technical acumen in addition to excellent written and verbal communications and stakeholder management skills.

In addition to fulfilling daily operational activities, the Subscriptions Operations Manager will be expected to improve existing processes for speed, quality, scalabilty and efficiency, as well as analyze, propose, and implement new workflows and tooling to increase operational capabilities as the Subscriptions business expands services and offerings.

A successful candidate should have experience with technology-driven products and processes, with a passion to innovate, ability to tackle complex problems, and a pragmatic, process-driven approach. They will successfully deliver high quality outcomes while being able to deal with ambiguity and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

 

For California Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $123,250 - $159,900 annually.

Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing

  • Execute SVOD business operations, ensuring seamless success from onboarding new partners to ongoing business activities and ad-hoc initiatives(e.g., price changes, new plan launches, new bundles, migrations, deprecations) globally
  • Facilitate cross-functional initiatives, business data flows across internal stakeholder teams (Business, Product, Engineering, Merchandising, Marketing, Revenue Operations, Finance, Accounting), and collaboration/communications across teams regarding task status/completion, risks, issues, or blockers.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate technical risks to processes, and facilitate escalation and resolution of issues or blockers
  • Perform discovery, definition, documentation, and implementation of improvements to processes or tooling for existing or new business operations
  • Support ongoing monthly, quarterly, or annual business cadences or executive presentations as needed

 

We’re excited if you have

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related field; MBA a plus
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in an operations or project management role within a software or technology company, and/or 2+ years in management consulting focused on financial operational effectiveness or process improvement
  • Excellent project management abilities, with the competence to dive deep; PMP a plus
  • Proven record of organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously
  • Positive attitude and can remain focused in a high pressure, fast-faced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience in and/or understanding of the digital media space, streaming platforms, and software development lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, Airtable, Confluence, JIRA a plus; experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Familiarity and comfort with managing and maintaining operational and financial data; knowledge of quality data management best practices a plus
