Roku is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer as part of the Technical Operations Department responsible for the end-user experience of the Roku platform, including TRC (The Roku Channel). You will be working as part of our Global Technical Operations team with the unique opportunity to interact with many different aspects of Roku including, live Operations, advertising operations, Editorial, Engineering, and Customer support. For this role, we are seeking someone with a good understanding of the AdTech space and Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI). You will support, troubleshoot, and triage issues relating to advertising on the Roku platform.

About the role

Your primary focus will be on SSAI and video advertising technology. You will become a subject matter expert on Roku SSAI offerings, monitoring tools, and Ad products.

The ideal candidate will have endless curiosity and can pair a global mindset with locally relevant execution. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive programs with the product and commercial teams within Roku and across external strategic partner organizations. The successful candidate will display a balance of hard and soft skills, including the ability to respond quickly to changing business needs.

What you’ll be doing

Prioritize issues for engineering to resolve and facilitate communication with operational and business stakeholders
Work with the broader technical operations team to maintain advertising for Roku platform and TRC (The Roku Channel)
Work with cross-functional teams to resolve day-to-day issues with the TRC Channel
Support and maintenance of the TRC infrastructure

We’re excited if you have

2 to 3 years of relevant technical experience in video or related technology disciplines
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues and work with engineering and business owners
Resolve problems independently and follow documented escalation procedures
Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Interface with internal and external customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner.
Detail-oriented, analytical, methodical, and committed to driving quality forward
Experience with Ad server technology and/or video streaming technology is preferred
Familiar with the various analytic tools/dashboards (Datadog, looker, etc) is a plus
Willing to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience required
Need to adjust working hours to meet company requirements
